The first day of Fall usually weighs on me like a sack of all the shiny pebbles my family skipped on the water’s surface over the long, lazy days of Summer. Missing those days threaten to become a habit.
But today, as I clipped herbs from the garden, I was reminded that a new season of gathering begins. Not only is it time for harvest and the slow cooking of garden spoils, but it’s also the time we gather friends and family together for shared experience and laughter.
This, this is Fall, and I’m excited for all the bounty it has to offer.
